To capture a moment in time is a gift that we can pass on to others, it is a treasure that warms our heart and speaks our soul.

In June 2010, I had the privilege of being introduced to the talent and expertise of Stephen Trites when he did some art reproduction for me. His work is truly impressive and for over two years I continued to have work done through his company where he was a partner.
Stephen now has moved on to a solo business and I feel so fortunate to have him located nearby in Kelowna. The art services he offers are very difficult to find in this area and it is cumbersome to try accessing these services from the lower mainland where they might be more plentiful but communication is difficult as is transportation.
One of the things that I admire most about Stephen is his ability to colour match along with his attention to detail. He is able to see and then reproduce the most complex colour blends so that the reproductions are a true representation of the original painting. I work in oils and this medium provides a great opportunity for colour mixing and colour creating, so in having reproductions done colour matching is very important. I have been dealing with companies involved with art reproduction since 1986 and I have no hesitation in saying that Stephen is the most competent person I have ever dealt with. He is a very creative and gifted person and his business in total reflects this.

I first met Stephen a few months ago when I was asked if I would like to be a “model” for a photo shoot he was planing. He has been in photography for over 25 years but was looking to focus on sports and fitness photography therefore building a portfolio of this type of work. I was excited but apprehensive, I am not a model that’s for sure and not even the best at the back-bend soft yoga poses he was thinking about. I agreed because I never want to pass up an opportunity and he said if I hated them he wouldn’t use them.
Even though I had great apparel I was still nervous about my look on camera, in yoga class the focus is not on how photogenic the poses can be so I worried that my yoga might not translate to nice photos. Then stepped in Stephen, he had already picked the location and was ready to go when I arrived. I would get into the basic form of the pose and he would worry about the rest, all the details, from the expression on my face to the extension of fingers and toes, to the wind and my hair. I felt so at ease working with him, it was apparent that he was very seasoned at his craft. The shoot was seamless and fun, obviously there were a lot of the photos that were not great, like a few poses that were difficult to hold and my faces showed it. However all in all I was shocked at how nice the pictures were the backdrop he chose was perfect, the timing with the sun was spot on and Stephens attention to the details took my poses from ok to awesome.

Stephen is a talented friend and photographer who offered to do some yoga shots for a yoga speciality I’ve been working on and I invited Dana when Stephen said it was okay. So fun! He attended my Sons birthday party and generously took it on his own to put together an amazing video capturing this amazing day. I was so impressed!! Loved it! My son watched this video 20 times straight the day he dropped it off and everyone we shared it with was so impressed.
I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve never really been photographed doing yoga but have worked with Other professional photographers for family photos like Michael Hintringer. I’m a bit shy when it comes to just photos of me. Stephen made me feel comfortable and creative. So much that I’m ready to do it again. Stephen is really professional, creative and fun to work with. I look forward in working with him again.
I’ve been a practising yogi since 1998 studying various styles. And teaching as a RYT since 2003. Throughout this time I’ve also pursued studies and presently work in ‘Energy Medicine’, Sp. kinesiology, Body Talk, etc. I have a strong background in Hatha Yogi, Feldenkrais and somatics work. Presently pursuing a strong practice in Anusara yoga where I finally feel at home and rising to huge changes and shifts in my yoga practice and life. Not being naturally as flexible as some it’s been an interesting journey with endless hours and hard work. I can say its so much easier and I love what I do! I love teaching yoga and inspiring others along the Path of Yogi, an endless unfolding of a beautiful painting.

“I had a lot of fun working with Stephen on the outdoor running photo shoot that we did. It was my first time working with a professional photographer and I was genuinely pleased with the results. He was great at giving cues to enhance the photo while at the same time, un-restrictive in his style. Stephen was very professional and I intend to work with him again in the future.
I have been a Personal Fitness Coach for the past 14 years and I also teach Pilates, Bootcamps & Spin. My favourite class is the year round, Outdoor Bootcamp that I have been teaching at Sarson’s Beach for the past 5 years. I have done 100 hours of Yoga training with Nicki Doane and consider it a work in progress for me. I love the spiritual aspect and the flexibility I acquire from Yoga. My newest passion is Stand Up Paddle Boarding, becoming a certified SUP instructor this past Spring. I completed my first Tough Mudder challenge in Whistler this year and I loved the teamwork involved. Can’t wait until next year!”
